The Disability ID Card

After Autistic College Student Was Assaulted, She Developed a Card to Tell Police About Her Disorder

Christianna Walker’s awkward interaction with police officers responding to her call led her to seek a solution to her communication difficulties during highly stressful moments. She and  Corporal Kevin Crawford, a community relations officer, developed an ID card she could show if a similar situation should arise again. Christianna and the University of North Texas police department are distributing similar ID cards to others who may need them.
