Saint Werenfridus †780

In the West, St. Werenfridus is counted as an intercessor for gout and stiff joints, as well as vegetable garderners. He was English, but he left his land in obedience to Christ and evangelized Ireland, and later was one of the band accompaning St. Willibrord in the mission to evangelize the Frisians.  It is said all his evangelistic efforts were crowned with great success. Thanks be to God!

Pray for us, St. Werenfridus.

And let us eat fresh, local vegetables, which are good for stiff joints and much more, and tell the person who planted and tended them how tasty they were!  The Lord and St. Werenfridus will be pleased!
