The House of Mercy is the first multifunctional social institution of the Orthodox Church on the territory of CIS. 13 projects aimed at rendering spiritual, medical and social support for the poor form its functional conception. The project unites those who apply for help and who want to realise their intellectual and spiritual potential, who are able and have desire to serve God and the neighbour.

The construction of the House of Mercy for the lonely old people, orphans, disabled children have been done by the Orthodox parish of the Memorial Temple in the name of all Saints and Innocent Perished People and under supervision of President of Belarus and Patriarch Alexy II since 1998. Archpriest Feodor Povny is the dean of the Temple, and he leads all social programmes run at the House of Mercy.
In May 2002 His Holiness Patriarch Alexy consecrated the House of Mercy during his visit Belarus. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko participated in the official opening of the House where Patriarch Alexy and Alexander Lukashenko signed the building completion certification of the House.
Christian idea of human being as a unique image of God is a basis for the House of Mercy operating. Fundamental principle of the House’s of Mercy social activity is based on Christian experience applied according to spiritual-moral traditions of the Belarus people. . . .
