a Parish in Russia

The St. John the Theologian Russian Orthodox Church in Rasskazov (Russia) offers pastoral care to 30 mental patients of the municipal psychoneurological hospital. Each Wednesday representatives of the parish deliver food, presents, and goods for everyday use, such as linen, towels, soap, and clothes. The social care department of the parish also helps with food and clothes to disabled children of the Platonov orphanage, the Lunacharsky orphanage, orphans from the boarding school for hearing challenged children, to families with many children and to parishioners with low income. The beggary, the elderly and those who cannot take care of themselves are not left without attention.
