two Greek-American contributions

There are two disability websites named after and inspired by Greek-American men, both living, who have contributed and advocated for the welfare of persons with disabilities. One of them has a physical disability.

One is a retired professor, now deceased: Dr. A.J. Pappanikou, Professor Emeritus of the University of Connecticut Neag School of Education. He co-edited the book “Mainstreaming Emotionally Disturbed Children” in the 1970’s. And here is the University of Connecticut website of the A.J. Pappanikou Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities: http://www.uconnucedd.org/

And then there is Kostas Zografopoulos and the Kostas Z Foundation. Kostas experienced and contributed to the 2004 Athens Paralympics Games. Here is his account of that: http://www.rollingrains.com/archives/000227.html The Kostaz Z Foundation was founded in 1998 and contributes assistance to various organizations, churches, and individuals.

Here is their website: Kostas Z Foundation  Kostas is an active member of St. Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Church in Chicago, Illinois:  St. Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Church: Parish Leaders
